ADS FOR THE 23RD ANNUAL ECAG WINTER ART SHOW Last year our ad sales were a success and we will be doing that again this year. If you plan to buy an ad, please remember to have your ads (business cards) turned in and paid for by February 11, 2008. Price schedule: $10 for Members Business Card $25 for non-members Business Card One half page ad: $75 Whole page ad: $100
If you know of someone who might like to sponsor a purchase award, we will give them a whole-page ad free. Purchase awards are $250. _________________________________________________________ TWENTY-THIRD ANNUAL ECAG WINTER ART SHOW This information is tentative and will be confirmed in the February newsletter. The tentative date for the 23rd Annual Elmore County Art Guild Winter Show is Sunday, February 24, 2008, at PrimeSouth Bank. Paintings to be accepted Thursday, February 21, 2008, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. RULES: 1. Only original artwork no more than two years old will be accepted. Artwork must not have been shown in previous juried Elmore County Art Guild Shows. Artwork will include oil, watercolor, drawings (pastels, pencil, pen and ink), acrylic, gouache, inks, dyes, collage, mixed media, photography and sculpture. Art on gallery-wrap canvas will be accepted without a frame if the sides are painted.
2. Two entries per member: $6.00 for each entry for members. Membership is required to enter the art show. Guild membership dues are $25.00 for the year (2008) and must be paid to enter the show.
3. All 2-D works must be dry, framed, and have wire for hanging (no sawtooth hangers or other type hangers will be accepted). Sculpture should be dry, fully assembled and ready to display. Due to the growth of our Guild and the number of screens available, we will limit the size of the entries. 2-D entries cannot exceed 48 inches in any direction. 3-D works cannot exceed 48 inches in height, width, or depth and must be fully assembled. Sculpture will be displayed on a table in the exhibit area; however, the artist is responsible for any special display stands or covers that might be required for their artwork.
4. There must be at least five entries in a single category for the category to be judged.
5. Category should be indicated on the entry form. Categories are as follows: Category I: Drawing, pastel, ink, pencil, etc. Category II: Oils and acrylics Category III: Water media (under glass) Category IV: Mixed media and collage Category V: Photography and printmaking Category: VI: Sculpture
6. Purchase awards are optional with each entry.
7. Work will be taken in at PrimeSouth Bank in Wetumpka on the assigned date between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. All entries must be picked up on the assigned date between the hours of 12:30 and 2:00 p.m.
8. The Guild will collect 10% commission on sale of artwork and that commission will be added to the Guild's treasury.
9. Reasonable care will be used at all times in handling entries, but they will not be insured against damage or theft. All entries not picked up on the assigned pick-up date will be taken to Jasmine Hill Art Gallery and the owners of the entries will be charged a $10 holding fee. This fee is to be paid at the time of pick up. All late fee collections will be added to the Guild's treasury.
10. A reception will be held on the assigned Sunday in February and will be from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at
PrimeSouth Bank in Wetumpka to showcase the exhibit. Artworks Thursday between the hours of 12:30 and 12:00 p.m. No artwork may be picked up until the assigned date.
