Judy Lea

Judy Lea was born in Nashville, Tennessee. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from George Peabody College for Teachers in Elementary Education. She taught first and second grades for five years before marrying.

After marrying, she and her husband moved to New York City where he was employed. Their first Valentine's Day Judy's husband presented her with an oil painting set. And, as they say, the rest is history!

Her husband's company transferred them numerous times. And each time, Judy found a painting group. The move to Montgomery, Alabama, is where they have raised their family and remained for the last twenty-seven years.

In Montgomery, Judy began taking classes from local artists and attended the Montgomery School of Fine Arts at Huntingdon College. From oil, she has found another favorite medium in watercolor. Judy is a charter and current member of the Elmore County Art Guild and has won awards for her paintings.
