A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

So far, 2020 has been a year like no other. Hopefully, the rest of this year will be a healthy and happy time for all of us.

Regrettably, we were not able to host our annual "Sparking the Arts" Youth Art Show or our annual "Tallassee NOW" art competition due to the Covid-19. We do intend to continue with both events next year. Regardless of the current situation, we will survive as a productive guild of artists who love sharing our art and supporting and promoting the arts for all ages.

After our annual Summer break, we hope to resume our regular guild meetings in September.

Shirley Esco, President

FEATURED ECAG ARTIST: Donna Pate

Donna Pate, a longtime member of the Elmore County Art Guild, is an Elmore County native and currently resides in the Deatsville area. She has enjoyed drawing and painting for as long as she can remember. A mostly self-taught artist, Donna paints primarily in oils but also loves colored pencils and pastels.  It wasn't until after she finished raising her children and retiring from her full-time job that she began taking her art seriously.

Donna stated, "I have much to learn still, and I've found that successful artists are typically very generous in sharing their knowledge." Over the years, she has studied with local artists Barbara Binford Davis and Alisa Koch.

Donna is very passionate about her work and hopes that her work brings as much pleasure viewers as it does her when creating it. To view more of her work, visit her website: DonnaPate.com
