A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
As the Elmore County Art Guild approaches its 37th year of operation, we continue to serve as Elmore County's oldest continuing art organization. Leaving 2020 behind us, we look forward to the year 2021 and the opportunity to resume normal activities. Over the past several years, the guild has been very active and experienced steady growth, increasing the number of annual shows and show participants.
This year's annual winter show will be held at the Wetumpka branch of First Community Bank of Central Alabama. The show is scheduled for February 19 through February 26. The take-in date and prospectus will be published soon. Information about other 2021 events will be released at a later date.
I look forward to seeing everyone at our December monthly membership meeting at Coaches Corner in downtown Wetumpka on December 9. If you plan to eat lunch, please arrive at 11:00 am to place your order. A business meeting will begin at noon—this meeting will also serve our annual Christmas Party. At the meeting, we will install our new officers.
After the membership meeting, we will participate in a "Dirty Santa" gift exchange. (Gifts of any type valued at around $10 are appropriate.) We encourage you to dress for participation in an "Ugly Christmas Shirt/Sweater" contest. The winner will receive a special prize.
Shirley Esco, Outgoing President

FEATURED ECAG MEMBER ARTIST: Aimée Troy Harbin
Aimée Troy Harbin is a native of Montgomery, Alabama. Since early childhood, she has been creating art. Aimée often uses unusual materials and tools and experiments with how they interact. Educated at Auburn University at Montgomery in fine arts, Aimée had the privilege of studying with acclaimed artist and art educator Charles Shannon.
Aimée is an award-winning multimedia artist. She sculpts and hand-builds with clay, paints with watercolor and acrylics, captures interesting detail with photography, and uses everything around her as inspiration. Recycle, reuse, repurpose are her three Rs, as she cannot help but see a use for all found objects. Manipulating wire or rusty metal strapping into trees and birds are just a few examples that have satisfied her need to repurpose things into art.

Always a teacher, Aimée offers "Art Experience" classes for home-schooled children and is continually inspired and uplifted by them. Using a wide range of materials, she teaches various art processes, including printmaking. Aimée hopes to encourage creativity and self-expression in her students. She also offers adult classes in beginner perspective drawing and painting.
As an active member of SAC's Gallery and the Elmore County Art Guild, Aimée has served in numerous positions as a board officer, committee member, and gallery co-director. She also enjoys helping her colleagues organize and install exhibitions.
