INFORMATION FOR ARTISTS INTERESTED IN EXHIBITING A LARGE PAINTING AT ANGEL’S ANTIQUE AND FLEA MALL, OPELIKA, ALABAMA

1.                  The maximum size of a painting shall not exceed 48x60 inches, excluding the frame.  The minimum size of a painting will be no smaller than 36x48, excluding the frame.

2.                  Only one painting per Artist will be hung.  Each painting must be original art, painted by the Artist.  No Giclee’ reproductions of original art in another medium will be accepted.

3.                  Each painting must be dry and suitable framed.  A Gallery wrapped painting will be accepted if it has painted sides and is on heavy duty stretched bars only.  Works must hang by a secured wire.  No sawtooth hangers will be allowed.

4.                  Because of the clientele in the Mall, no paintings of nudes will be accepted for exhibition.

5.                  The Artists must agree to leave their painting at Angel’s Antiques for 90 days.

6.                  A Committee, chosen by the owners of the Mall, will select the paintings to be hung.

7.                  If the painting sells, 40% of the selling price will go to Angel’s Antiques.  No fees for hanging will be charged to the Artist.  If a customer asks for a discount, the Mall reserves the right to discount the price of the painting up to 10%.   Any offers more than 10%, must be approved by the Artist.

8.                  It must be agreed by the Artist that Angel’s Antiques will not be held responsible for any damage occurred to the painting while being exhibited at Angel’s.

9.                  Proper identification will be required for the Artist or anyone they approve to pick up the painting at the end of 90 days.  At the end of that period, failure to retrieve their painting within a reasonable amount of time, i.e., 15 days, the painting will become the property of Angel’s Antiques and Flea Mall.

10.              Any artist who is interested in having their LARGE PAINTING displayed at Angel’s Antiques MUST send a picture of the painting through the internet or by mail to:

Norma B. Nabors

P. O. Box 2365

Opelika, Alabama 36805

            Or

nnabors@charter.net

(Please do not bring the painting to Angel’s until the Committee approves it for hanging.)

ANGEL’S ANTIQUES AND FLEA MALL is a large antique mall with over 65,000 square feet and approximately 450 vendors. They have large blank wall spaces above some of the vendor’s booths.  They would like to offer that space to those Artists who need large spaces to display their works.  Mounted high on the wall, the paintings can be seen from almost anywhere in the Mall.

They would offer this space to Artists who paint on large canvases.  Most exhibitions shows are very restrictive on the size of a painting, with large paintings not allowed.  ANGEL’S ANTIQUES AND FLEA MALL is pleased to offer a place for these Artists, for a limited time, to exhibit their large paintings.
