Richard Bowman

Richard Bowman is a native of Thundersley, Essex, England.  In 1947, at the age of six, he immigrated to the United States with his family.  Following four years in the United States Air Force, Richard had a 40-year career in broadcasting, graphic arts and advertising and as a wedding photographer before retiring in 2004. Although he is a self-taught artist, he believes he inherited his talent from his father, Angus Bowman, and his aunt, Bessie Elizabeth Bowman, the latter of which had paintings exhibited in the National Gallery in London.  Richard has worked in pastels, pencil, oils and acrylic. His favorite subjects are pets, the English countryside and quaint English villages.

Mr. Bowman currently resides in Elmore County, Alabama with his wife, Jane, and their five cats.
