Toska Courbron

Toska is mostly a self-taught artist, learning art from experience, attending work-shops by accomplished artists, through college art classes, reading art books, and visiting art museums and shows whenever possible.

Toska started painting at five years of age when her father brought home a paint-by-numbers set and easel. Toska developed drawing and painting skills in high school where she earned a little money selling drawings of the Beatles.

Toska moved around the Country working as an accountant for private industry (12 years) and a professional auditor with the Navy and Air Force (32 plus years). During this time, she was a member of several art organizations and won numerous awards. However, she never had the opportunity to devote full time to painting until she retired in January 2011.

Toska is currently a member of the National Society of Women in the Arts, and Officer for the Elmore County Art Guild in Alabama. Since retirement this year, she is devoting full time and effort into developing her own style, working primarily with watercolor and pastel.

Toska's goal is to enjoy the satisfaction and intimacy gained from creating a work of art.
