Once upon a time, a United States Air Force cadet asked me to marry him and if I said yes, we would travel the world together. I did and we did. My interest in art grew as we traveled and experienced different types of art in other countries including the United States. We moved many times until retiring here in Elmore County.
I did not take “brush in hand” on canvas until the year 2016, at the age of 82. However, I had worked on some craft projects when they were offered in different locations where we lived. I love painting; I love the colors and what I can do with them. I wake up thinking about what I want to paint next.
My best friend has become gesso. Using gesso I can easily cover a painting that didn’t work out and start all over again. I do that a lot. Am I having fun? You bet I am. God willing, I have a few more years to enjoy playing with color.
