Sponsored by the ELMORE COUNTY ART GUILD, Atlanta Cityscape, by SSgt. Lee Watkins and Jasmin Barajas
With the help of veterans and their art instructor, Mindy Buckley, Stanhope Elmore High School art students have created ten pieces of artwork to be exhibited at different locations throughout Elmore County. This effort was the idea of the SEHS principal who wanted the art students to complete a community project. To help with the cost of framing the artwork, a local organization or person sponsored each piece of artwork. According to Buckley “this project not only draws attention to our veterans, it connects the veterans with our youth. The students have gained so much from this collaboration.”
The ELMORE COUNTY ART GUILD was proud to sponsor one piece of artwork, titled Atlanta Cityscape shown above. This painting, along with nine others shown below, will be displayed by the Elmore County Art Guild at the Wetumpka Depot Players Theater, located at 300 South Main Street in Wetumpka, along with artwork from the Elmore County Art Guild. The artwork will be on display from Thursday, September 13 until Thursday, October 11, 2018.
